kapvt mvndi records is back in london with the new catalogue series, we moved from the first two chapter (the fourth vinyl retrospectively homage to war, kpt001 and kpt002, and to religion, the latest kpt003 and kpt004). the third chapter of our hidden tale is about “society”, with a single side ep, as usual, but with a new graphic scheme coming with pictured disk on the side with no music, one more time courtesy of new yorker photographer paolo di lucente.

he cd included in this vinyl edition features the 14 tracks in the same order short info: cerrone is one of the main architects of disco music. his influence is well known around the world and a new release will soon be added to the monument that his discography represents. during 3 years, he travelled back and forth to london, paris and new-york to record ‘red lips’, working with some the most promising young artists (kiesza, yasmin, brendan reilly), collaborating with well-established stars (aloe blacc, alexis taylor from ‘hot chip’) and also worldwide famous legends nile rodgers and tony allen. get ready to dance, the king of the night is ready to claim back his throne.

camila fuchs (meaning fox in german) are the london based experimental electronic duo of camila de laborde and daniel hermann-collini (from mexico and munich respectively). after pursuing solo endeavours in various projects both camila and daniel left their native countries and gravitated towards london due to its vibrant and eclectic attitudes to different cultures and the arts.

the second ep, 1987s greenfingers, was their final recorded work and, according to hayward, its possible to hear the group atomising and preparing to go its separate ways within its grooves. the only this heat or camberwell now recording not to have been produced at brixtons cold storage studios, it was recorded as a diy exercise and – unusually for either of the groups – was not pored over laboriously for a great deal of time. the ep also saw the addition of a new member, maria lamburn, primarily on sax, whose element unknown was inspired by her experiences in the nuclear protest camp at greenham common. camberwell, in south london, pops up infrequently in pop culture. perhaps you know it from the camberwell carrot, the heroically sized joint smoked in cult movie withnail & i, or perhaps – if youre attuned to experimental music – you know of camberwell now. the group formed from the ashes of this heat, the art-noise group whose catalog was reissued on modern classics recordings in early 2016.

there’s much to be said for chance meetings. vitruvians – in their words, “a meeting of minds, cultures, styles and experiences, powered by music, and designed by faith” – owe their very existence to once such random encounter.
in the summer of 2014, producers frankie valentine and thomas “t-ash” sciurpa bumped into each other in a london shoe shop. over a fine selection of brogues and loafers, the conversation drifted onto music. the duo quickly realized they had much in common, and a plan began to form: they would get together and make music as vitruvians, using the alias as a vehicle for their collaborative work.

glasgow based imprint flatpack traxx returns with a no nonsense 4 track ep made for the dance floor. collaboration from 2 of the uk s brightest new talents dissonance and intact. both of whom play an integral role within london based collective surface music. dissonance an anglo/italian producer was exposed to strong musical influences having relocated to the uk at an early age. his recent productions are a voyage of exploration, recording for the likes of spains oblack label and 2651 records alongside los pastores and the willers brothers respectively.

fuckthegovernment.ltd, a.k.a. f.t.g (alfredo trastulli) and music box head honcho, marco riff, return to the skylax fold in 2016 with a cache of house nuggets for our listening pleasure. their last venture on skylax saw f.t.g collaborate with a bunch of his friends, resulting in some of the best tracks we’d heard all year, including the unforgettable fuckthegovernment theme. their tracks have been celebrated and hailed by some of the best djs in the game, names such as derrick may, ricardo villalobos, raresh, and dj harvey. the bar set by the first record remains sky high, and somehow, these two manage to raise the bar even higher. it may be the biggest cliche going when talking about an album, but the duo certainly do take us on a journey, through the past and present of house music. it’s a record not too dissimilar in tone to paranoid london’s from a few years back, but f.t.g and marco strip things back even further than those guys did, in our opinion, the sound is more raw with less frills, and no track names to predispose feelings in the listener either. this eight track project is cohesive and elaborate, with movements through sounds both acid and jazzy, minimal and maximal. it explores sounds that came to prominence in famous house locales such as detroit and chicago over in the u.s., but the underground european influence is definitely present, from paris to berlin, and of course f.t.g and marco’s home of italy. with this album, these guys add to the underground sound that has cultivated in the city of perugia for years now, a place that has seen the likes of simoncino and nicholas hone their craft.don’t miss out on a piece of skylax history

get on down is a heavyweight slice of storming jamaican disco-reggae heat from the legendary studios of miami s tk disco empire. king sporty s version may not have been as well known as connie cases electro laden later 1982 version (also produced by sporty) but the perfect marriage of disco stylings and sports jamaican roots meant the original 1979 version was a cult classic in underground deep disco circles. over 35 years since get on down was released the keepers of the tk disco vaults have given permission for some of their classics and lesser known gems to be respectfully tweaked by contemporary producers and dj s who fully understand the lineage of the label and the music contained within. stepping up and get his hands dirty is none other than london dwelling, wolf music man medlar. a regular face behind the turntables all over the world medlar has lovingly freaked king sportys anthem for the modern dance-floor, extending the right parts in just the oh so right way, dubbing out parts that needed just a smidgen of echo here and there and generally making the track irresistible to dj s with its lovely long beat led intro. these are extremely tasteful edits, done with respect and reverence over 2 parts old school style. look out for those low flying dubbed out vox and lazer beams too, powerful stuff! this is only one of many underground disco classics that the mighty miami based tk disco label brought to the world, reimagined for 2016s dance-floor, officially sanctioned in conjunction with henry stone music / tk disco. file under - classic / essential!

* beyond the clouds* was recorded from a live session near the heart of detroit using hand crafted modular synthesizers, analog devices and custom made effects units. remastered by ron murphy @ nsc mastering, detroit, usa shortly before he passed away, his memory will live in our hearts forever. in this live version of cv313s classic, the modular recordings were separated, dissected in the mix and dubbed out with a litany of analog effects. during this performance there was a mystical element in the air, strobe lights, vaporous gas and electric dreams. a connection felt with the dancers, a groove beyond a groove, it is that magical essence of japan. this was a night to remember, recorded live in tokyo with love. during the closing moments, the ghostly ambiance faded, the smoke cleared and beyond the sequence was born. remastered by bazza @ alchemy studio, london. uk
